Beginning at Millennium Green, the route quickly leaves the town passing the River Deerness before reaching the Hedleyhope Fell Nature Reserve, one of the largest mid-altitude heathlands in County Durham. This stunning fell is a mosaic of heather, acid grasslands and gorse patches and provides the ideal habitat for wildlife to flourish. After descending down the fell the route climbs back to the top to take in some breath-taking views before heading back to the start passing Tow Law AFC and through Millennium Green.
